About Jasmine
I believe that every student deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and confident in their ability to succeed. My aim is to create a learning environment that is kind, patient, and relaxed, where you never have to worry about getting something wrong. If you don't understand something the first time, that's absolutely fine—I'm here to help. We'll work through it together at a pace that suits you until it clicks.
My own journey through education wasn't always easy. Growing up in a socioeconomic background that presented its own challenges, I know firsthand that everyone's experience of learning is different. Although I found school challenging at times, it was also incredibly rewarding, and those experiences have shaped the teacher I am today. They taught me the value of patience, encouragement, and having someone who believes in your potential.
One of my biggest passions is reading. I genuinely believe books have the power to open doors, challenge our thinking, and help us see the world in new ways. Whether we're exploring Shakespeare, analyzing a modern novel, or improving your writing skills, I hope to help you discover that English isn't just another school subject—it can be something to enjoy and feel inspired by.
I've had the privilege of working with children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Every student is different, and that's something I really value. I enjoy getting to know how each person learns best so I can adapt my teaching to suit their individual needs and help them grow in confidence.
Above all, I want you to know that there's no such thing as a silly question in my lessons. Whether you're preparing for exams, writing university essays, developing your literary analysis, or simply trying to build your confidence in English, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Hello, and welcome!
I'm a qualified Secondary English teacher with a PGCE in Secondary English (Distinction), an MA in Gender, Society and Representation (Distinction), and a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Modern History (2:1). I also achieved an A* in GCSE English Language and English Literature and an A in A-Level English Language and English Literature, providing me with a strong academic foundation and a genuine passion for the subject.
I teach students from secondary school through to university level, offering personalized support in English Language and English Literature. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs or A Levels, refining your academic writing at university, or looking to strengthen your literary analysis and critical thinking, I tailor every lesson to your individual needs and goals.
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and supportive. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, and I strive to create a positive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, exploring new ideas, and building confidence. Whether we're working on exam preparation, essay writing, grammar and language skills, or analyzing complex literary texts, my aim is to make learning engaging, enjoyable, and accessible.
