About Tasnia
I have previously worked at two tuition centres and have tutored students ranging from Key Stage One to GCSE level (3-16). I have also worked as a Summer Reading Challenge volunteer at the library working with children aged 4-11. In these roles, I have taught either one-to-one or in groups; planned lessons, slides, and worksheets in advance for the students; set homework and marked homework and classwork. I have also communicated with students and their parents to identify their weak points through discussions and diagnostic tests. I have guided children through their reading journeys and through their educational journeys; I believe I am capable of assisting your child and making sure they achieve the best of their potential!

My methods of teaching vary. Sometimes I teach students through interactive power-points where I am not only able to talk them through the topic, but I am also able to explore what they think and how they perceive the topic. I believe this is essential instead of simply reading from a slide. I sometimes utilise flip-learning where I judge what the student already knows about the topic and I explore how far they can take their knowledge prior to intervention. This allows students to be comfortable with what they are learning and also allows me as a tutor to envision whereabouts they are in their learning. I also utilise active recall where I go through exam questions with students and quiz them on my own, as this is similar to what they will be doing in exams – retrieving knowledge from their minds and applying it. I also use spaced learning where I revisit certain topics depending on how strong the student is on them. I make sure to create a positive environment full of encouragement where I help students find answers and feel comfortable enough to express their opinions.
