About Darius
I believe in the 3 C’s; I always want my students to feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated!
I think music should always be fun, even if it is challenging at times.
My goal is to help you grow into the best you.
I can explain things in a variety of ways, I have taken advanced classes and more beginner-level classes and I can guide you at whatever pace feels right for you.
As for my qualifications and who I am:
I have been playing trombone for 14 years, piano for 7, and guitar for 5.
I am a working musical theater actor and I have studied voice under trained professionals.
It was so long ago but I scored a 5 on the AP Music Theory exam and I use the concepts I learned there in my own work and in my lessons.

In college, I often heard the phrase “be the best you.” Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and while I want to help my students challenge those weaknesses, I want to build their confidence in their strengths. We can work on your favorite songs, material you’re working on for a performance, and as I learn your style, I can pick material you might enjoy that will also challenge you! There are no silly questions, and our time is YOURS; we will make the most of it and take it one step at a time!
