About Voltaire
I am experienced in tutoring individuals who needed help from primary-level to university-level mathematics. As an example, one of my students who needed help with university calculus, excelled in her module and is now studying a postgraduate in medicine. I also have experience in presenting to a group of primary school students about university-level mathematics as a volunteer in multiple career and university fairs. With these experiences, I gained skills in finding a way to engage people from various mathematical backgrounds to enjoy and learn from my presentations.

My name is Voltaire and I am a student in my final year of studying mathematics at Middlesex University London. My approach to teaching is to ensure that the student gains confidence in answering problems with their own process and me as the guide. In maths, I believe that there is more than one approach to any problem and it is better to understand the ideas than to memorise formulas. I encourage brainstorming and helping students think about how they approach a problem and giving constructive feedback before trying to find the answer to any problem. I use practical examples in most problems and try to explain the problems as simply as possible because I believe that maths is not about complicating things more than we want.
