About Sophia
I am a well-educated makeup artist and skincare consultant near completion of studies with bountiful personal experience and research in these fields providing easy makeup tips for flawless and skin care advice based on an in-depth understanding of the science of our skin and the common ingredients used in skincare products.
SKINCARE:
I can give recommendations as to what ingredients to avoid and which to look for and how to read the labels of skincare products. By the end of a thorough skin consultation session with me, you will have extensive knowledge about your own skin type, how to treat it, a basic scientific understanding as to why your skin is the way it is/what makes it that way, and how you can shop for the right skincare for yourself. You will be fully equipped to handle any skin concerns you are faced in the future with the powerful tools of knowledge.
MAKEUP:
By the end of a makeup session with me, we would have discussed what it is you are looking for and I would have thoroughly talked you through the best and easiest techniques to achieve your desired look. I also like to explain why techniques work so you understand why each technique is used.

I like to be very thorough. Explaining in depth not only the answer to the question of why that is the answer. I find this not only helps people understand it better but it helps the information stick and be remembered longer. I like to let the student take the lead regarding any technical actions such as makeup brush techniques.
For example, I would ask how they normally hold and move the makeup brush (as that is what is most natural and easiest for them to understand) and i would them give suggestions on how to better improve that technique and build upon it.
I don't like to come in and just word vomit my knowledge, I like to see what understanding the student has first and build upon that. Making it a more interactive experience helps me understand what areas to focus on with the student and also ensures I am keeping motivation high by not blabbing on about things they may already have fairly good knowledge in.
