About Brad
I began training Judo when I was 8 years old and immediately fell in love with the rough and tumble sport that also included acrobatic movements akin to the gymnastics I had begun learning at the age of 4. Throughout my years of training I have been extremely fortunate to train under exceptional Coaches in Judo and Wrestling. The Cohen Judo Family in Illinois, Jason Morris the Olympic Silver Medalist in New York, and my wrestling Coach Mike Powell of the Oak Park River Forest Huskies.
I earned my Third Degree black belt under Morris, and he was my primary coach over the many years of competition I participated in. Through his instruction I was able to win 6 National titles as well as a Pan Am Championship Gold Medal in 2010. Martial Arts has been my life since I was a child and my favorite thing to do is to pass on this knowledge. Ever since I began competing I knew I wanted to be an instructor of the Combat Arts. I am currently teaching Judo, BJJ, and Wrestling in Charleston South Carolina.

When starting a student on a program I first find specifically their goals and previous experience so we can aim to create the building blocks for success. Not only do we work on how to develop techniques and their application but assisting exercises that will promote over all health as well as mobility and strength to utilize these techniques with precision. A path of development will involve learning the techniques and key movements, as well as mistakes to avoid. Progressing to additional movements and advanced set ups, as well as exercises and drills in which we can perform to sharpen skills efficiently. Offering lessons to beginners who are looking to start their journey into the grappling arts, or experienced athletes looking to build to their skill set.
