About Pasindu
I am a Masters student at University of Melbourne awaiting graduation in June 2019. I have worked as a practicing civil and structural design engineer for two years after graduation from Bachelors with a First Class Honors (97%) with a specialization in structural engineering. I have been actively working as a tutor and assistant lecturer in the civil engineering department of a large university tutoring undergraduates in design, software, drawing, surveying, etc. I have conducted engineering software seminars on various software for government and private organization design offices in FEM and structural drawing in Sri Lanka including ETABS, SAP2000 AutoCad and Revit. I have been working as an associate designer on several major projects in Sri Lanka including design of buildings for national expressway network, airport authority and large steel buildings. I have worked part time as a tutor for students of all levels from middle school to university level on subjects such as physics and mathematics for over 5 years.

I am a keen tutor who tries to stimulate interest in the subject being taught without which I believe makes it much more difficult to grasp the content. If required I would focus only on the specific context but if a large content is required to be covered I would first cover basics which increases the ability to understand the more advanced content and ability to answer indirect questions.
Depending on the level of understanding of the student I would change my teaching methods as I have experience in teaching both individual lessons and to classes of over 80 students and doing practical demonstrations and in evaluating assignments, tutorials and undergraduate research thesis projects.
