About Joel
My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in guitar technique while encouraging creativity and personal expression. I guide students through essential skills like fingerstyle playing and classical technique, helping them develop precision and musicality. Alongside technique, I introduce basics of music production, such as loop layering and beat-making, to expand their creative possibilities. Improvisation is a key part of my lessons — I help students find a natural flow and build confidence to play freely. We also work on stage-style playing, preparing students to perform with energy and presence. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to fit individual goals and learning speeds. Whether you want to master intricate fingerpicking or explore composing with loops, I support your growth step-by-step. My method mixes clear explanations, practical exercises, and real music examples to keep lessons engaging and rewarding. I encourage patience and regular practice while celebrating small achievements along the way. Together, we build skills that last and inspire a lifelong love for guitar.

I’m a passionate guitar tutor with 2 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar. I love working with children, teens, and neurodivergent learners, tailoring lessons to fit each student’s unique style and needs.
