About Andriy
I received my first Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from Higher State Music Institute and my second Master’s Degree in Music Composition from Mannes College, The New School for Music. At Mannes I studied composition under David Tcimpidis, and took master-classes from Jennifer Higdon. In 2010, I was awarded 2nd prize in the Jean Schneider Goberman Composition Competition.
I am a composition D.M.A. candidate at the Hartt School, Hartford University studying with Dr. Robert Carl. My piece “Elegy of the Black Mountain” written for violin solo and chamber orchestra received an honor prize from Hartt School Of Music and was performed by Hartt School orchestra. I have written numerous compositions for orchestra, various chamber ensembles, choirs, solo piano, and electronic instruments which are performed nationwide and abroad. I am also a member of National Association of Composers of USA.
