About Matt
Reading comprehension and writing skills have been my passions since I graduated from school. I am an organized educator that keeps the instruction consistent and fun. My master's program allowed me to improve my own skills and knowledge of teaching. My belief in the student's ability to accomplish material with confidence is my main goal. My teaching philosophy is not a "gotcha" system in which when you get something wrong, that's the grade you receive. School is about correcting mistakes, learning from them, and growing along the way.

Lessons will be designed by using your interests and passions to progress your level of improvement in reading and writing. Lessons will be modeled by me first, then we will work on it together, and then you will have the opportunity to try it for yourself. My tutoring strategies are based on providing you with the relevant material that will help you succeed in and outside of an educational setting. There will be no fluff assignments that waste time. My lessons are designed for childhood students that need assistance with reading skills, and middle school-college students that need assistance with writing essays in an effective manner.
