About Ellery
Hello, Artists and Dancers! My name is Ellery and I have been dancing for over 20 years! I started ballet when I was 6 years old and quickly learned how positive dance was for me. I soon after began training with the Dayton Ballet School where I performed with their Senior Company. Though, it wasn't until I started studying dance in college that I began to see how I could use dance as an outlet for self expression, healing, growth, and connection. I completed my undergraduate degree in dance pedagogy and psychology where I was also able to learn more diverse styles such as jazz, modern, pointe, improvisation, hip hop, and tap. After graduating, I went on to complete my masters degree in dance/movement therapy and mental health counseling. I wanted to combine my passions of dance and psychology and share with others how powerful dance can be. Now as a registered dance/movement therapist, I also work for the Cleveland Clinic and provide patients a different way to heal and express themselves.

I am able to offer a unique blend of skill/technique based lessons with opportunities to use improvisation and dance for self expression. Growing up, dance was always very healing for me and I want to offer a creative, safe, open, and growth based environment where students can not only grow in their knowledge of ballet, but also as individuals. With me you will learn proper technique, alignment, terminology, class structure, and notable ballet works. With this, you will also have opportunities to use dance in an improvisational context and be guided by different prompts to explore your creativity, artistry, choreography, and self expression.
I offer lessons for higher level and dedicated dancers that really want to grow as performers and people! Some level of experience would be helpful, but not required!
