About Michele
My name is Michele Chapman, and I bring 13 years of rich experience in the education sector, encompassing senior administrative management roles. My journey in education began in 2011 when I undertook training as an ESOL teacher, earning the CELTA qualification - an internationally accredited and recognised teaching credential from Cambridge English Language Assessment.
Following my training, I took a leap and traveled to Hong Kong to teach in a school located on the bustling China border. This international stint not only broadened my cultural perspectives but also allowed me to refine my teaching methodologies in a diverse and dynamic environment.
Upon returning to the UK, I ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing my own online ESOL teaching business. For several years, I successfully navigated the online education landscape, connecting with students from various corners of the world. This experience not only showcased my innovative teaching methods but also demonstrated my ability to adapt to the evolving trends in the field.
In 2021, I transitioned to a new chapter in my career by joining a Cambridge Further Education college. Here, my focus shifted to teaching Functional Skills English to apprentices, contributing to the development of practical language skills crucial for the workforce. This role allowed me to blend my expertise with a commitment to empowering learners in a formal educational setting.
Beyond my role as an educator, I am driven by a passion for academic pursuits. I am not just an educator; I am a dynamic professional who combines practical experience with academic rigour. From teaching in Hong Kong to founding my online business and later transitioning to a Further Education college, my journey reflects a commitment to lifelong learning and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of my students. As I embark on my academic writing pursuits, I continue to be a beacon of inspiration for those who believe in the transformative power of education.

* I offer a 30-minute free trial lesson.
* Lessons are via Zoom or Skype; a number of tools and resources are implemented to fit the needs of the student (a combination of Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic and Read/Write techniques).
* 13 years experience a qualified CELTA/ESOL teacher, in the UK and overseas.
* 2 years working in Further Education as a Functional Skills Lecturer (Levels 1 + 2).
* BA (Honours) in English Literature from a reputed UK university.
* MA in Social Policy & Criminology from a reputed UK university.
* Experience teaching primary aged children, teenagers and adults.
* Excellent track record of preparing students for the Cambridge English exams (particularly FCE, CAE and CPE).
