About Julia
I'm a new graduate from the University of Toronto. While in university, I double-majored in Statistics and International Relations, and I realized how badly stats is taught to non-majors. I'm hoping to help change that. I genuinely love mathematics and statistics, so I don't want anyone else's love of the subject to be killed by a bad teacher.
I've TAed with the UofT stats department and have experience leading academic workshops through the UofT Association of Women in Mathematics. I hope I can help you learn to love (or at least not fear) math and stats!

I am confident that I can make you love stats the way that I do (or at least not dread it).
As a stats graduate and former IB kid, I am confident that I can help with most entry-level university statistics classes and all high-school math and stats classes (including IB and AP).
My teaching strategy includes:
- Working through solutions so that you can recognize the underlying logic in a statistics problem and apply that logic creatively,
- Highlighting the connections between different statistical methodologies so that you can make those connections by yourself on an exam, and
- Helping you troubleshoot problem sets that you've gotten stuck on.
I can also help you out with coding - I'm proficient in R and Python.
Whether you need help debugging code for an assignment or studying for your diploma exams, I'm here to help!
