About Katie
I am a Statistician with a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. I excelled in my degree with straight high distinctions and numerous awards, and currently work as a consultant and teach research methodology and statistics to PhD students.
I began tutoring in 2002. My students have ranged in age from 6 to 70+ and have come from all walks of life, each with their own individual learning styles and requirements. I love seeing my students grow, and showing people the inherent beauty in mathematics.
I also have a BA in Psychology with first class honours, and have experience with students on the spectrum and with ADHD. I enjoy helping people to reach their full potential.

I tailor my teaching approach to the individual student. Often times a student has a good idea of where they need help, and we work from there, fleshing out other areas along the way. Other times, I create a curriculum that is suited to the student, and the lessons are more structured.
My teaching style is very down to earth, and I take time to ensure that my students understand their work on a deep level. I also understand that there is often a lot of anxiety surrounding mathematics, and work with students to help ease this.
I have a natural talent for teaching, and have been continually refining these skills over the past 20 years. I have worked with children and adults of all ages, and in various settings, from classrooms to one-on-one lessons.
