About Rebecca
I am an experienced and dedicated mathematics educator with more than 20 years of experience working with students from middle school through college. I hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management and a master’s degree in Adolescent Mathematics Education, along with Pennsylvania and New York State teaching certifications in mathematics. Throughout my career, I have been a classroom teacher, curriculum developer, mentor, supervisor, and adjunct college professor. I take great pride in being dependable, professional, and genuinely invested in my students’ success. I understand that every student learns differently, and I strive to create a tutoring environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as learners. My goal is not simply to help students get through their next math assignment or exam, but to help them develop the skills and confidence they can carry forward through the rest of their educational journey and beyond.

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, supportive, and personalized to each learner’s needs. I am a great listener and a patient teacher, and I make it a priority to get to know each student as a whole person—not just who they are in their “math world.” Understanding a student’s interests, strengths, challenges, and goals helps me determine how best to support them. I begin lessons by identifying what the student understands, where they are struggling, and what they hope to accomplish. We then work together through concepts, examples, and practice problems while developing strategies the student can use independently. I believe students learn best when they understand the “why,” not just the steps, and I use humor when appropriate to help create a comfortable, positive learning environment. With more than 20 years of experience teaching mathematics, I have worked with students from middle school through college in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus. What sets me apart is my combination of extensive mathematics teaching experience, curriculum expertise, and genuine interest in helping each student become a more confident and independent learner.
