About Vladimir
I graduated from college with a bachelor's in Applied Mathematics. I had an official tutoring position at the college for multiple semesters and have tutored more throughout my life. I taught myself Trigonometry and Calculus in my freshman year of high school. Achievements include winning the college Integration Bee for 3 years resulting in being undefeated. Back when I was in high school, I entered multiple math competitions and did well in them (getting 1st place in Trigonometry and top 5 in 12th grade Algebra). I was the math expert in our school's academic bowl team. In 8th grade, I took my school's team to the state math competition.

Teaching Method/Techniques: I like to adapt my style to the student I am teaching (i.e. visual/talking). Something else I try to do is determine the correct starting point for the lesson (depending on the student's knowledge) Typical Lesson Plan: New Student: I will try to have us go over multiple problems to determine which teaching style to use and will then help teach the student the concepts they may be struggling with. Consistent Student: I will usually try to prepare by going over what the topics are beforehand and devise what way to cover the materials during the session. (For instance, I noticed a student I tutored responded really well to color coding solutions to exercises, so I incorporated colors in the lesson/session) What sets me apart: I am always excited to teach others mathematics. I feel like I do well at adapting my teaching style to the needs of the student. I am also very patient. Who the lessons are for: My primary experience is with college students, but I have helped high school students in the past as well. I have little experience with elementary school students.
