About Mojia
With a degree in Economics with Advanced Mathematics, a quantitative-oriented master’s degree in Finance and a social sciences master’s degree in Anthropology, I have tutored a range of students in the disciplines of Geography, Business, Finance and Mandarin Chinese from the AS level to the degree level. Integrating practical cases as well as exam top tips into tutoring, I ensure my students maximised learning efficacy, to reach or to exceed the aimed exam results.
Regarding my own pre-degree background, walking my way up to the current level from bottom, I beat other 210000 students in the A-level equivalent exam (subjects including further mathematics, history, geography, English, Chinese literature, philosophy, economics and politics), which reached the academic criteria of University of Cambridge towards Chinese nationals (top 0.1% students within the country). Juggling between diverse academic realms, in the fierce graduate market, I have also secured myself in the most competitive Graduate Scheme this year as the top 0.2% graduates in the U.K.. Therefore, overcoming a range of obstacles under different circumstances, I am willing to be a supportive listener for students under pressure, fathoming out the individually customised solutions together.
My normal approach to students is solution-oriented. First, I would inquire about the students’ academic demands, short-term and long-term study goals. Second, through the first forty-minute tutoring and pre-lesson material check I would gain a profile of the student’s study and engagement level. Then, in the following time, via mapping out the student’s study schedule together, we are expected to follow the study plan with contextual adjustments. With hindsight, instead of simply delivering knowledge, I am determined to figure out the most customised methods for each individual.
