My methodology is firstly explaining a concept that the student is having difficulty with, in multiple ways until the student understands. The second step includes a more "hands-on" approach where I have the student solve a question related to the concept. If difficulty arises while solving, I tend to give hints that would guide the student in the right direction. I am extremely patient, and so I would re-explain as many times as needed in order to ensure full understanding of the concept by the student. Tutoring is my passion and my motto is practice makes perfect!!!

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I first discovered my passion for mathematics during high school, where I excelled in the subject and began mentoring fellow students to improve their grades. My dedication was recognized by the academic quality control at my school, who appointed me as the head of academics. In this role, I was responsible for pairing students with peer mentors and took on an increased mentoring role myself. This experience revealed to me the profound satisfaction that comes from tutoring. After moving to Canada, I continued to pursue this passion by volunteering for two years as a tutor for children who lacked access to private tutoring services. This journey of helping others led me to join Superprof, where I continue to share my love for mathematics and support students in achieving their academic goals.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

My passion for mathematics stems from its power to simplify the seemingly complex challenges of life. Like a tough math problem, life's tasks can appear daunting until broken down into smaller, manageable parts. This principle forms the core of my teaching approach, encouraging students to tackle any challenge with confidence. Moreover, I thrive on the interaction and knowledge-sharing that teaching provides. Instilling a belief in my students that 'if someone else can do it, I definitely can too' is incredibly rewarding. It allows me to make a positive impact and empower them to approach math with confidence and curiosity. My love for math is deeply tied to these moments of breakthrough and understanding, which I am fortunate to facilitate as a tutor.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

One of the aspects I cherish most about tutoring is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with my students. These relationships go beyond the typical teacher-student dynamic; they are partnerships based on trust, respect, and mutual growth. I take the time to understand each student's unique challenges and aspirations, which allows me to tailor my approach to their specific needs and learning styles. This personalized interaction not only enhances their learning experience but also helps in building their confidence and motivation. Moreover, I am deeply committed to continual improvement as a tutor. I regularly seek feedback from my students to refine my teaching methods and make them more effective. I also stay current with the latest educational technologies and methodologies to ensure that my tutoring remains relevant and impactful. This dedication to excellence and adaptability is what makes me a 'Superprof.' I believe that my ability to evolve and enhance my tutoring practices not only benefits my students but also keeps me engaged and passionate about what I do.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain

One of my key role models is Mr. Marti, my high school physics teacher. He was an exceptional educator, known for his boundless energy and dedication. Mr. Marti taught me during my last two years of high school, and his commitment was evident as he was never absent once, a testament to his dedication to us, his students. What set him apart was his ability to ensure that every student in his class fully understood the material, employing a very engaging tone that made even the most complex concepts accessible and interesting. His unwavering commitment to student understanding and performance inspired me to do whatever it takes to make a significant impact in my students' lives. Beyond his teaching, Mr. Marti also expressed a personal belief in my potential, telling me that I was one of the people destined to do great things in life. I carry his words with me as a constant source of motivation and inspiration, driving me not only in my teaching but also in my personal journey towards obtaining a medical degree.
  • What are your keys to success

My keys to success in tutoring are deeply intertwined with the strategies I use to ensure my students achieve their academic goals. Firstly, persistence and dedication are fundamental; I am committed to consistently providing high-quality support to every student. Adaptability is also crucial-I tailor my teaching methods to match different learning styles and needs, ensuring all students can benefit. Effective time management is key, allowing me to efficiently organize tutoring sessions and help students develop their own skills in managing their study time, which is essential for academic and personal success. Empathy and understanding form the core of my approach, allowing me to connect deeply with my students and address their specific needs. Finally, a goal-oriented strategy keeps us focused on achieving clear, realistic objectives, which drives continuous progress and motivation.
