About Jes
I am a 38-year-old AFAB (assigned female at birth) non-binary person from Dublin, Ireland. I have a mixed professional background, which includes over 2 years of English teaching in Spain, Mexico, and England.
I have also spent over 7.5 years creating, writing, and editing digital content for multiple industries, during which time I carried out countless training sessions.
I spent 5 years working on digital content for the Education sector, which gave me a good knowledge of creating engaging educational content.
Additionally, I have over 2 years' experience as a music journalist (on a voluntary basis) and a Train the Trainer qualification.
I have a passion for education and information/knowledge sharing in all forms, especially those which cater to people whose learning needs fall outside of the so-called "norm." As someone who struggled with school and university (despite getting a 1st Class Honours degree in Media Studies), I have a lot of empathy for learners for whom conventional forms of education are not a match.

I approach teaching in a way that meets the student where they are at. I like to find out what my students' hobbies/interests, key goals, and learning styles are and use these to build enjoyable and effective lessons.
I work at the student's pace, ensuring the lesson has been learnt before moving on to the next topic. I believe in regular feedback and continuous adaptability to ensure the student is always satisfied.
My lessons are for all ages and all levels, from toddlers to senior citizens. I can teach all forms of English, from conversational to business. I have over 2 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language to children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings, including primary school classes, private lessons, and office-based sessions.
I can also teach content writing and editing, as I have over 7 years of experience in this field and have carried out multiple training sessions and workshops on these topics.
