About LAURA
I am a Medical Doctor and received my undergraduate degree in Biology and French Translation. I am a fluent Spanish speaker as well. I love teaching and facilitating subjects which can sometimes be tedious and difficult. I love learning about many different things and love seeing my students look forward to lessons and becoming more prepared and well-rounded individuals.

As someone with many years in the classroom I have experienced many different teaching methodologies. I believe that while repetition and properly presented information are important, it is equally important to receive feedback from students in order to assess their degree of understanding of a topic. I encourage communication and questions. I think active participation is at the core of engagement and thus essential to memory formation and learning.
I prefer a student centered approach, where my students play an active role in the learning process. I assess learning through participation, and demonstration. The teaching method would depend on both the topic and on the students learning style.
