About Ashley
I am a 4th year medical student with a background in Behavioural Neuroscience (BSc), from which I graduated with honours. My background in teaching is tutoring advanced mathematics (grade 11) for 2 years. I have also helped with writing course material for my medical school in psychiatry.
During my undergraduate degree I did research in 2 labs, one that specializes in drug addiction and eating disorders and the other that specialized in motivational behaviour and it's neuroanatomy.

I like to teach relevant background material so that the student has a good base knowledge before we begin going into the more difficult to attain material. I like my tutoring sessions to be a discussion, I ask leading questions so that the student can think of the answer on their own. I find this method is the best method for students to attain and retain information for long-term use rather than short-term. During these discussions I also encourage students to ask questions, not matter how ridiculous they seem, as this is a good way for students to build mental schemes of the concepts, which helps them better understand and retain them.
