About Ansh
Hi! My name is Ansh Vanka, and I am currently a first-year medical student at Aston University. I secured interview offers from all five medical schools I applied to, reflecting a strong academic profile and effective exam and interview preparation.
I have prior tutoring experience, having supported my juniors and classmates with academics and exam preparation. This has helped me develop a teaching style that is clear, patient, and adaptable to individual learning needs. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and ensuring students build both understanding and confidence.
I completed my schooling under the CBSE curriculum, where I was awarded a 75% academic scholarship for excellence. Academically, this background has given me a strong foundation in science and problem-solving, which I now apply in my medical studies and tutoring.
Having grown up in Bahrain, studied within the Indian education system, and now attending university in Birmingham, I am very familiar with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. This allows me to provide a compassionate, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges.
As a tutor, I aim not only to help students achieve strong results, but also to develop effective study techniques, exam strategies, and long-term academic confidence.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques
My UCAT tutoring is strategy-driven, personalised, and exam-focused. The UCAT is less about content knowledge and more about how you think under time pressure, so my teaching centres on:
• Breaking down each UCAT subtest (VR, DM, QR, SJT) into repeatable strategies.
• Teaching efficient decision-making
• Time-management techniques tailored to each section
• Pattern recognition training.
• Worked examples and guided practice, followed by independent timed questions
• Error analysis.

• Lessons are usually 60 minutes
Qualifications & Experience
• Experienced UCAT tutor with a strong understanding of UCAT scoring, patterns, and examiner logic
• Familiar with current UCAT question styles and official platforms
• Proven track record helping students increase scores efficiently, even when starting late or feeling overwhelmed
