About Carla
Hi there,
I'm an easy going and friendly scientist who has just finished her PhD in microbiology.
I am currently starting up my own game development company - the first game being based on bacteria and antibiotics - and I am available for tuition of Biology and related subjects!
I believe in teaching SKILLS as well as content so during my lessons, students will learn how to answer the questions and not just memorise the information I give them.
I have a degree and PhD in microbiology and completed postdoctoral research in Philadelphia on the use of games for science education. I have also worked in public engagement at several universities and for Public Health England. My start-up company called Game Dr is currently based in Gloucester and develops mobile games on microbiology and science.
