About Cristin
"Eleven years of teaching has taught me that progress is rarely linear. I admit that I still find the most complex technical challenges to be the most rewarding to decode.
My work draws on my MMus from the Royal College of Music to guide beginners and advanced students alike. I cover ABRSM and Trinity exam prep, music theory, sight transposition, memorization techniques, jazz improvisation, classical repertoire, posture, hand position, accompaniment skills, pop, contemporary, and hand independence. Students often find my approach very direct. I simply help them play better."

"Metronomes tick in the quiet space as we calibrate your posture before starting. The air feels focused and productive while we refine your hand position or work on sight transposition.
I integrate my MMus training into every explanation of music theory or jazz improvisation. Technical drills for hand independence occur alongside ABRSM or Trinity preparation. Each 8.0 session includes a recorded playback so you can review the details at home.
These recordings serve as a constant reference for your practice. We bridge the gap between effort and performance. I expect a high level of engagement.
