About Melissa
I became a travel industry professional after graduating from university with a BA(Hons) in Hispanic Studies and French and have continued to use my languages consistently over the past 20 years.
Last September decided to change career and I began my PGCE in secondary education, specilising in Modern Foreign Languages.
Having previously tutored students in prepartation for their GCSE's I knew how rewarding teaching could be.
I work full time in a high school teaching both French and Spanish to students in KS3 and KS4.
The pupils that I have tutored privately in advance of their GCSE's have grown in confidence and reduced their stress levels in advance of their exams.

My classes are based on the needs of the student. I ascertain what their goal is eg. improve speaking skills, or understanding the different between perfect and imperfect tenses, and plan sessions based on that. I use revision guides, online resources and my own lesson plans based on national curriculum schemes of work.
As I work in secondary school, my lessons are geared towards the 11-18yr age range, but I can also teach younger children using more active ways of learning and I can also teach adults looking for specific topics relating to business or holidays for example.
