About Olivia
In July 2020, I set an online magazine about languages and cultures. As a language student, I am well aware of the lack of resources and opportunities for those looking for work experience in the field as well as how overwhelming it feels to enter the world of linguistics having no idea or where to start or what to do. My magazine aimed to combat this and I am proud of the community we have built. I have also been director of a language learning business where we aimed to provide resources for schools in the UK and as part of this I have tutored Spanish to National 5 students. Beyond this, I love travelling and exploring new cultures and over the last year I have visited 16 countries (I have just come back from Central America after visiting Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and India!).

Having experiences learning languages by myself, I have learnt techniques that you are likely not to be taught at school. Together we will put more emphasis on speaking, making sure that you are a confident and fluid speaker so that you can speak with ease in all situations. Most importantly, I will aim to use the science of second-language acquisition to guide our lessons and your learning, educating you on this as well so that you can get the most out of our lessons.
I have GCSE's and A Levels in French and Spanish and I am currently studying BA Modern Languages. I am a business owner of a linguistic magazine and former director of a language learning business. I have experience tutoring National 5 Spanish both 1-1 and as a group.
Lessons are most suitable for those at beginner level to GCSE (or equivalent). Any age is acceptable. For A Level (or equivalent), it will depend on the content of your course (please get in touch about this if necessary).
