About Trishanta
Trishanta Hari-Priya Raman is a South African Movement Artist, Dance Practitioner, and Choreographer who started her dance journey overseas, at the age of five. Her dance training began with the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus at Linköping’s Balettförening, in Sweden. She has completed 7 graded examinations with RAD. She has also trained in Latin American & Ballroom where she has received 4 S.A.D.T.A. Certificates with honors. Her dance training also includes Jazz, Contemporary, African Dance, and Tap. She took Dance Studies as a subject from grade 8-12 at Crawford College Pretoria, where she matriculated in 2014 with Dance Studies as one of her majoring subjects. Trishanta joined Movement House Dance Company in 2010 and Ziadance company in 2012. She started choreographing in 2010, staging works in schools and in theaters. She then furthered her dance education at the Tshwane University of Technology where she has completed her National Diploma in Dance majoring in Performance Studies, Composition and Dance Teaching as well as her Baccalaureus Technologiae (Cum Laude) in Dance majoring in Composition and Dance Teaching to complete her qualification with honors. Trishanta also worked as an assistant dance teacher at Crawford College Pretoria, teaching Dance Studies from Gr. 8-12 and had an internship with the Event Management & Entertainment Production company espAfrika in 2019, where she worked on the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. Since then she moved to Scotland, United Kingdom to pursue her Masters where she became the President of Danns-Ed and graduated with an MSc Dance Science & Education from the University of Edinburgh. She is currently employed as a Dance Studies Teacher at Crawford International Pretoria College.
