About Chris
With an Associate's Degree in Music and over a decade of experience as a multi-instrumentalist, my teaching journey began at 17, instructing drums in both private and group settings. Since then, I’ve guided students through performances, judged auditions, led music summer camps and after-school programs, mentored through music, shadowed a music therapist, and ignited the joy of music in learners of all ages—from inspiring little ones to coaching a 50-year-old through their first piano or drum piece. I’ve had the privilege of working with students at all skill levels, fostering a supportive and engaging environment that builds confidence. With patience, professionalism, and passion, I’m here to help you achieve your musical goals.

As a pianist, multi-instrumentalist, and lover of music, my teaching method blends structure with creativity. I focus on building a strong technical foundation, encouraging expressive playing, and helping students connect with the music they love. I use a mix of sheet music, ear training, and improvisation techniques to create a well-rounded learning experience. A typical lesson starts with warm-up exercises to develop finger dexterity and strength, followed by skill-building activities such as scales or sight-reading. We’ll then focus on a piece tailored to the student’s interests and skill level, incorporating music theory and stylistic techniques. Each lesson ends with feedback and a clear practice plan. My diverse musical background allows me to adapt to a variety of styles and goals. I bring a fun and encouraging energy to lessons, aiming to make each session enjoyable and rewarding. Whether teaching a beginner their first notes or helping explore jazz improvisation, I ensure lessons are personalized and engaging. My lessons are for students of all ages and with skill levels, beginner to intermediate. I’m particularly passionate about helping students discover their unique voice through music and develop confidence in their abilities.
