Music educator, multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer at award winning studio Grayson Music Group and Honours in Audio Production (TMU) offers music and recording production lessons in east Tor

I’ve always wanted to learn piano, particularly because I’ve dreamed of being able to play composers like Bach and Ravel, but I never knew where to start as an adult. Taking lessons with Niki has made the process feel both approachable and genuinely exciting. She’s incredibly patient and knowledgeable, but also pays attention to what I actually want to learn rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I really appreciate that she explains the musical ideas behind what we’re playing, not just the notes. I’ve already become much more comfortable reading music and understanding technique, and I’m finally working toward playing pieces I’ve wanted to play for years. She creates a really relaxed environment while still pushing me to improve. I’d highly recommend her to any adult who has always wanted to learn piano but thought they were starting too late.

I honestly can't say enough good things about Niki. My daughter is a shy 6-year-old who used to get nervous trying new things, and from the very first lesson, Niki created such a warm, encouraging space that all of that melted away. It's been nothing short of amazing to watch.

What started as a little hesitant curiosity has blossomed into an absolute love of piano. She talks about her lessons all week, practices without ever being asked, and lights up the moment it's time to sit down at the keys. Niki has this incredible gift for making every single lesson feel joyful and exciting rather than like "work" — celebrating every tiny win, being endlessly patient, and building her confidence note by note. The bond between them is so genuine; they clearly have the best time together, and that connection is exactly why she's thriving the way she is.

I've watched my once-shy little girl transform into a confident, beaming kid who proudly plays for anyone who'll listen. That kind of growth doesn't happen by accident... it takes an exceptional teacher who truly cares. I am endlessly grateful and cannot recommend Niki enough. If you want your child to not just learn piano but fall in love with it, look no further!

We’re so glad we switched to Niki as our piano teacher. Our 11-year-old daughter was working on RCM Level 2 but wasn’t really enjoying piano before. Since starting lessons with Niki, her confidence has grown so much and she’s actually excited to practice again. Lessons are supportive, clear, and really well paced for her age. It’s been great to see her enjoying music again, and we’ve noticed real progress too. Highly recommend!

Niki is an incredble audio teacher. She has been helping me set up my home studio recording rig for the past several months, and I wouldn't be where I am without her. She is patient and very knowledgeable about the hardware and software that I'm working with. She always goes the extra mile. It'a always a pleasure getting lessons from Niki, and I look forward to all of them.

I had the pleasure of teaching Niki during her time at Ryerson, and she stood out from the very beginning for both her technical curiosity and her creative instincts. She consistently demonstrated a strong grasp of audio fundamentals—from signal flow to DAW proficiency—and always approached projects with a thoughtful, musical ear.

What impressed me most, however, was her continued involvement after graduation. Niki returned to assist with several of my production and engineering classes, helping guide students through hands-on sessions and offering feedback during mix critiques. She has a calm, approachable presence that students really responded to, and a deep working knowledge of both analog and digital workflows across multiple DAWs.

Niki brings a rare combination of professionalism, reliability, and genuine passion for sound. She’s equally comfortable in a teaching environment as she is behind the console, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any role involving music production, audio education, or technical mentorship.

Niki’s been teaching my 12-year-old son drums for the past few months and it’s honestly been such a great fit. She has this very calm, encouraging vibe that really works for him — not too formal, but still focused. What I love most is how she gets him learning by playing actual songs he’s into, which keeps him really engaged. He comes out of every lesson excited to show me what he’s learned, and he’s picking things up way faster than I expected.

We’ve known Nkki through family friends for a while, so I already knew she was a super talented musician, but seeing her work with my son has made me appreciate how great she is as a teacher too. Can’t recommend her enough.
