About Katie
I received my bachelors in Contemporary and Popular Music from the University of Maine Augusta in the United States. During my time at university, I also took courses at Columbia College Chicago and Kingston University London. I’ve played in the Nashville and Kansas city music scenes, as well as locally in my hometown of Portland, Maine. I chose to become a teacher because I love sharing my passion for music with others and seeing them progress in their musical goals.

Have you ever wondered what it was like to play a musical instrument? Ever hear a song on the radio and think, “man! I really wish I could play that!”? Ever dream about performing in front of lots of people -or even just your friends and family- but never thought you could? Well you can do all of these things!
My name is Katie and I teach people of all ages how to play music. Whether you are just starting out or have some experience under your belt, I can help you on your journey to becoming a better musician.
I teach beginner and intermediate lessons in Voice, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Flute and Ukulele. I specialize in Popular Music and American Jazz but work with all genres, including folk, classical, rock, and hip hop.
I charge £20 for an hour lesson or £10 for a half hour lesson. Each lesson is tailored specifically to the student and I try to employ multiple teaching styles to find which methods work best for that individual.
I teach via zoom but am hoping to start offering in-person lessons soon once I get a studio set up in Glasgow.
