About Daniel

I’m Danny Green, a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Rode, near Frome. I release and perform music as DG Solaris, having previously made four albums with my band Laish.

Alongside my own music, I help other people write, develop and record their songs. I play guitar, piano, bass and drums, so I approach production through the song itself: what it needs, which instruments suit it, and how to capture a performance that feels right.

My background is in indie, folk and alternative pop. I particularly enjoy working with people who have ideas they care about and want some help turning them into recordings they’re proud of.

I also run Night River, an intimate concert series bringing songwriters to Somerset. Making music and bringing people together around it are a big part of my life.

I’m patient, approachable and happy to explain things. You don’t need to arrive knowing the technical language or having everything worked out.

About the lesson

Got songs you’d like to record, ideas you haven’t quite finished, or home recordings that don’t sound the way you imagined? I can help you take the next step.

These are practical, creative sessions built around your music. We can work on songwriting and arrangement, recording vocals and instruments, using Logic Pro, and understanding how to bring the different parts of a track together.

You might already write and perform and want support developing your sound. You might be new to recording and want someone to explain the process without overwhelming you with technical jargon. We’ll start with what you know and what you want to make.

I’m a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, releasing music as DG Solaris and previously as Laish. I bring that experience into our sessions, helping you make musical decisions as well as learn the recording tools.

Sessions take place at my home studio in Rode, near Frome, or online. You’re welcome to bring a rough demo, a work in progress or simply an idea.

Send me a message about your music and what you’d like help with.

I started guitar lessons with Danny just before Xmas and it's been great! For my first lesson, I was half an hour late to arrive because of a traffic accident on route to the lesson. Danny was so understanding and made me feel very much at ease even though I was flustered and stressed about the delay. We then got stuck into the lesson and I felt very comfortable and supported by Danny's calm and encouraging teaching style. Highly recommend Danny as a tutor.
