About Tom
I enjoy teaching so much. The act of sharing knowledge that I am so passionate about in order to help others achieve their own passion is truly fulfilling. I love going through students personal projects and carving out lesson plans to help them finish their projects.
12 Years Experience in Music Production.
Qualifications include: MA Music & Sonic Media - University of Sussex, BA Music Technology - University of Sussex, L3 Diploma Music Production - BIMM.
Some information about my music projects:
Burland > Fusing Dancehall, Afrobeat and West African Percussion with the powerful elements of Techno, Garage & Bass music. Featuring collaborations with K.O.G (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa), Zongo Abongo (The Busy Twist) and Master Drummer Okoe Ashiboi-Amartifio (formally Kakatsitsi). Songlines competition winner and a regular on BBC radio 6 receiving support from Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supanova and Toddla T.
Sir Rah > Connecting the dots between Breaks & 140/Dubstep, with releases on Dissident Sound & Sicaria Sound’s label Cutcross.

A friendly and engaging teacher offering bespoke tuition across the whole spectrum of music production using Ableton & DJing using both vinyl & digital formats. Available to teach: Recording Instruments Composing Electronic Music Arranging Working Effectively with Session Musicians Mixing Live instruments Mixing Electronic Instruments / Samples Hardware Synths & Drum Machines Creative Sound Design Vocal Mixdown Mixdown Optimisation for Club Sound Systems Mixing with Subpac Critical Listening Building Portfolios for University School Curriculums £140 for 5 hours only applies for a 5 hour day lesson. This does not apply for hours used individually. The 10 hour option does not apply.

Perfect! Tom is a really excellent teacher and incredibly knowledgable not only in Ableton but music production generally. I really recommend him to anyone at all levels and he is also is really cool person who makes learning fun.
I could not recommend Tom enough!Perfect! Had a lesson with Tom today he was great simplified everything for me as I’m a total beginner explained everything fully! Will definitely making the most of Toms knowledge again! Great value for money to!
Perfect! Excellent knowledge, experience. As a relative beginner so good to have someone supportive, calm and patient with a positive, non-judgemental attitude. Great teacher - summarises and double checks learning at the end of the lesson. Thank you.
Perfect! Tom is a really great tutor, considering I had no previous experience in ableton he made the navigation seem much more simple and less intimidating. As well as this he went the extra effort to record everything we did in our sessions to enable me to look back on processes. Really great guy to share idea's with, patient with a chilled attitude, highly recommend. :)

Tom is an incredible teacher as he has a fantastic ear for detail and a depth of knowledge that some could only dream of. I've had 1to1's with him where he's been able to quickly discern issues in my tracks, give really constructive criticism, then always followed by a tip or technique shared - so I've never been left feeling stuck. I've worked with him a handful of times now and it's his warm and enthusiastic character that always has me coming back. Would strongly recommend Tom to a mate!
