About Katie
I am a musician, and I have been playing the flute for nine years now. I have been giving flute lessons for about two years and music reading/theory/comprehension for just about a year. I primarily have taught peers or those in grades below me. With flute, all of them were able to audition and make it into the ensembles or chair where they wanted to. With reading music, my peers have been able to understand music better and go on to learn to play instruments rather than just singing.

I base my lessons and teaching off of the knowledge the student may already know. I like to get to know them first and get a feel of what they know, what they would like to know, and what they are confused or struggling with. I teach from anyone who is just starting up to someone who is in college, so basically all ages! I am in college right now and am continuing to expand my knowledge and passion for music. Whatever you may be struggling with, I can help!
