About Gerard
Hello, my name Gerard!
I am a modern music student at the Jam Session school in Barcelona. I'm a guitarist and keyboard player on emerging projects like The Blind Mirror and Pommes de Terre.
I have 4 years of experience with initiates and initiates of all ages in the world of modern music.
I teach:
* Electric or acoustic guitar: in various traditions and styles (rock, blues, pop, jazz, folk styles, reggae, ska, rumba, bossa nova, psychedelic, ambient and experimental)
* Piano
* Keyboard: modern use of the piano (backing keyboards and more experimental sounds)
* Musical culture: language, ear education, music theory and basic notions of composition and production
* Musical initiation: you are interested in music but you are not sure what instrument to play, or how to focus your learning? Start with some general and basic notions that will be useful for any instrument or study mode

Whether you already have some notions or if you start from scratch, I adapt the classes to the aspirations, tastes and rhythms of the students: either a learning oriented to the technique of the instrument, the theoretical understanding of that that we are playing, or a more intuitive view of the music.
-Are you interested in going in depth?
In my classes you learn TECHNIQUE, HEARING, IMPROVISATION, INTERPRETATION, SOUND AND EXPERIMENTATION, EMOTIONAL EXPRESSION AND COMPOSITION, and most importantly: LISTENING.
Learning to play the instrument is important, but understanding what's behind what we're playing is essential to understanding music on a deeper level. For this reason, and if you are interested, I can teach you the basic history of music, its genres, styles and most representative groups; as well as basic notions of composition and musical production.
