About Mehak
With over 10 years of dedicated training in Indian classical dance and recognition at the national level, I bring both passion and professionalism to every class I teach. My goal is to not only pass on the technique and tradition of this rich art form but also to instill discipline, confidence, and a deep love for dance in each of my students. I have trained under respected gurus for over a decade and have performed at national-level cultural events and competitions. My background includes: -Extensive stage experience, both solo and group performances -Continued advanced training to stay connected to the evolving standards of the art form -Several years of experience as a tutor, teaching students across age groups both in-person and online I also mentor students for stage performances, dance exams, and arangetrams, offering holistic support throughout their journey.

My teaching is rooted in both tradition and adaptability. I place strong emphasis on foundational training—starting with posture, basic adavus (steps), rhythm (tala), and expressions (abhinaya). I ensure students gain technical precision, while also nurturing their emotional connection to the art form.
I follow a structured yet flexible approach, adjusting my teaching style to suit each student’s pace and learning style.
I incorporate:
Repetition for muscle memory
Storytelling to enhance emotional expression
Use of counts, music, and mirror work to improve timing and alignment
Periodic reviews and informal assessments to track progress

In more advanced classes, I guide students through repertoire pieces, improvisation (manodharma), and performance techniques.
