About Maya
I am a native Arabic speaker from the Levant region. I know Modern Standard Arabic and the Levantine Arabic spoken dialect. My schooling was in Arabic for all subjects including Arabic literature and Arabic Language Arts. I speak the Levantine Arabic dialect at home and with family and Arab friends and I have excellent reading and writing skills in Modern Standard Arabic. I like the natural and fun approach to learning languages and being immersed in the culture.

As a native Arabic speaker, I am able to teach you the correct pronunciation and I help students to learn the language in a fun and natural way with an understanding of the culture and the spirit of the language. Learning a spoken dialect is very important too because it is what people use to communicate in their everyday life. The Levantine dialect is the easiest dialect for foreigners to learn to speak fluently because it is the smoothest and most flowing dialect among the Arab dialects. It is also very well understood all across the Arab world due to its easiness and also due to famous Levantine TV shows and series. For the intermediate and advanced levels, I will use movies, TV series, and other type of entertainment as a material for discussion and assignments that we go over them during the lesson to facilitate natural acquisition of the language.
