About Ligia
My name is Ligia Auter and I am a writer, teacher, and artist. I am a native Brazilian, graduated in Language and Literature with a teaching qualification. I also have a Master’s degree in Children’s Literature and Literacies from Glasgow University. I have been teaching language, literature and art since I graduated in Brazil, in 2018. I have taught students of all ages and I adapt easily to understand each student’s needs.

I believe that learning a Language requires learning its Culture as well and that is how I approach teaching Brazilian Portuguese. As a native Brazilian and a certified Language and Literature teacher, I am able to add daily jargon, slang, and formal language to the same lesson, providing my students with a whole round perspective of Brazilian Portuguese. I believe my lessons are unique because, in their 1:15h duration, my students are provided with grammar, writing, listening and speaking techniques plus a broad view of Brazilian Culture, e.g. music, art, literature, architecture, geography and many others. I have been teaching Brazilian Portuguese at all different levels since I graduated in 2018. Have been having lessons with ligia for a few years now and my português has improved immensely, she is super patient, takes so much time to prepare each students individual lessons with quizzes, visual aids, full on ppts specifically made for you and fueled by her enthusiasm! She is open to exploring methods of teaching from music, books, grammar and speaking ! She wont push you beyond your limits but will call you out and keep you trying hard if she knows you can do it and know it, but are just shy! Super great teacher! Very greatful for her efforts !
