About Lucy
Hello, I am a native Chinese speaker from Shanghai. I came to Australia at the age of 17 and am proficient in both Chinese and English. I am currently doing a Master of Teaching at the University of Melbourne. I understand educational theories and can apply appropriate teaching strategies based on students' needs.
I have many experiences in teaching Chinese. I served as a Chinese teaching assistant in a secondary school in Brisbane, assisting students in correcting grammar in their Chinese assignments; I tutored 2 Australian university students majoring in Chinese, enhancing their spoken and written Chinese skills; I worked as a tutor for the Translating and Interpreting Studies course at The University of Queensland, guiding students in translating a contemporary Australian short story into Simplified Chinese.

Developing students' Chinese skills based on their interests, while incorporating cultural and historical elements to help them understand the meaning of Chinese. Use visual materials to help students remember Chinese vocabulary; use real-life scenarios to practice Chinese speaking and pronunciation.
Experience:
*Assisted in teaching Chinese classes for 22 Year 7 students: taught and corrected students' Chinese pronunciation; helped students modify the grammar of Chinese assignments.
*Tutored 2 university students majoring in Chinese: helped them practice oral speeches and proofread their Chinese writing.
*Tutor of course Translating and Interpreting Studies at The University of Queensland: Led students to translate a contemporary Australian short story into Simplified Chinese.
