About Viancqa
I am an MPhil candidate at the University of Cambridge. Born and raised in Indonesia, I lived there for 17 years before moving to the UK to continue my study.
I have written a number of papers in Bahasa Indonesia, as well as interacting in formal Indonesian context such as internships and working with the Central Bank. So I am comfortable teaching both formal and informal/day-to-day Indonesian.
This is my first time teaching Bahasa Indonesia and I'm genuinely happy to have encountered a number of people who came up to me at university expressing their interest in Bahasa Indonesia. Given that, I am also happy to shape the tutoring sessions the way you prefer.
I also think it's a very beautiful language and relatively easy to pick up!

My approach to tutoring is conversationalist, I believe that the most important element to learning a language is knowing how the language is really spoken in that language.
We were taught that English people say "how do you do" and you should reply by "how do you do" --> this isn't what happens in real life, is it?
Same thing with Bahasa Indonesia! We don't say, "Apa kabar?"; "Baik-baik saja" on a daily, conversational basis.
If you have a beginner/intermediate background in Bahasa Indonesia and looking to brush up on your conversation, I'd be happy to be your sparring partner!
This is my first time teaching Bahasa Indonesia, so I'm happy to shape the session how it suits your need.
