About Yi
Hi! I'm Jing Yi, a friendly and patient native Mandarin speaker from Malaysia, currently studying at RMIT University in Melbourne.
I enjoy meeting and communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds, and I love helping others learn Mandarin in a simple and comfortable way. As I speak both Mandarin and English, I can explain concepts clearly in English when needed, which can be especially helpful for beginners.
I understand that learning a new language can feel challenging at first, so I aim to create a relaxed, supportive and encouraging learning environment. My lessons can be adapted to your level, interests and personal goals, whether you'd like to build a strong foundation, practice everyday Mandarin, or become more confident in conversation.
Whether you're a complete beginner or simply looking to improve your Mandarin speaking skills, I'd be happy to support you along your learning journey!

My Chinese lessons are friendly, practical and personalised to each student's level and goals.
I can help beginners learn Mandarin from the basics, including pronunciation, Pinyin, vocabulary, sentence structures and everyday conversations. For students who already have some Chinese knowledge, we can focus more on speaking, listening, reading and improving confidence in real-life situations.
Lessons can be adapted for children, teenagers or adults. Whether you want to learn Chinese for school, travel, daily communication or simply as a new language, I will adjust the lessons according to your needs and learning pace.
I aim to make Chinese learning enjoyable and comfortable, while helping students build practical communication skills step by step.
