Hello, my name is Nancy. My teaching approach focuses on practical communication and building confidence. I prioritize speaking and listening skills, helping students become comfortable using Mandarin in real-life situations rather than only memorizing vocabulary. I use simple explanations in English, real-life examples, repetition, and guided conversation practice to make learning natural and effective.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material, followed by introducing new vocabulary or sentence structures. We then practice through interactive speaking exercises, role-play conversations, and listening activities. I also provide corrections and feedback in a supportive way so students can improve without feeling discouraged. Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace and goals.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to bridge Mandarin and English learning styles. Because I was educated in English while being a native Mandarin speaker, I can explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand for international students.
