About Matilda
Hi! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic Spanish tutor with a passion for languages and helping others learn. I am a native Spanish speaker, and I am currently studying Spanish at A Level, where I have developed strong skills in grammar, translation, speaking and writing. Because I have recently studied the GCSE course myself, I understand the exam structure and the areas students often find difficult, and I enjoy helping others build confidence in these areas.
I am patient, supportive and organised in my approach to tutoring. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel comfortable asking questions and practising the language, so I aim to create a positive and encouraging environment in every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them feel more confident using Spanish.
Alongside my academic studies, I have experience helping peers and younger students with their Spanish work. I also love theatre and music, so I am very used to conversation and team work! I am reliable, well-prepared and committed to making lessons engaging and productive.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, engaging and focused on building confidence with Spanish. I believe language learning works best when students feel comfortable making mistakes and practising regularly, so I create a relaxed environment where students can develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills step by step.
I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs and goals. For GCSE students, this might include practising exam-style questions, improving vocabulary, and working on grammar in a way that feels manageable. I also like to include conversation practice so students become more confident speaking Spanish, as well as activities such as translation, listening exercises and past paper work. For younger students or beginners, lessons focus on building strong foundations in vocabulary, pronunciation and basic grammar through interactive activities.
Lessons typically last 45-60 minutes, which allows time to review previous work, learn new material and practise skills. However, I am flexible and can adjust lesson length depending on the student.
I am a native Spanish speaker, with residency in Andalucía and I am also currently studying Spanish at A Level with a predicted high A*, giving me a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum, receiving a high 9, and exam expectations. I have experience helping peers and younger students with Spanish, and I understand the areas students often find challenging.
My lessons are suitable for primary school students, beginners, and GCSE students who want to improve their Spanish, prepare for exams, or build confidence in the language.
