About Maria
Hello! My name is Maria, I’m an Economics student but I did Spanish for GCSE and as one of my A Levels too. I love learning new languages as well as teaching my own so I’m glad to hopefully give others a similar passion for them. I will try and make lessons as interesting as possible as I’ve been in my fair share of lessons that feel never ending. I have now taught Spanish for a while at a variety of levels and I am confident in my ability to help any student improve in their subject and engage in the content.

My tutoring sessions are usually 1 hour or 2 hours with a 10 minute break in between. I do not have a specific structure for every lesson but I try to begin with a short intro task that usually bases off the work from the previous week. This is followed by the main content that is taught with some practice questions that build up in ability. At the end of the lesson I will tell you if this topic needs more coverage or I am happy to leave it for now. Occasionally I will give mock exams to the student, usually based on the topic. Everyone is different so I try and tailor each lesson to the student and not the same structure for everyone. I have done the Spanish GCSE and A Level so I am familiar with the structure they follow if you need help with these exams in particular but I do intend to get the student more involved in the language and culture.
