About Jan
I am well qualified to tutor a range of subjects, having graduated with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience with a GPA of 4.17. I have on numerous occasions been placed on the dean's honor list for outstanding academic achievement. In addition I have recently taken the MCAT, getting a score of 515 which is the top 9% of test takers. As a recent graduate I understand the pressures a student may face when approaching challenging subjects, so I aim to create an encouraging learning environment where students can prosper and attain their highest potential.

As a recent graduate I understand the pressures a student may face when approaching challenging subjects. As a neuroscience graduate I have been exposed to a various array of subjects, ranging from anatomy, general, organic, inorganic, and biochemistry, as well as various biology and psychology subjects. Having recently taken the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) I have experience in learning a vast array of topics efficiently and effectively. Drawing on my experience studying for the MCAT, tutoring will consist of first gauging the knowledge of the student by means of conversation and premade quizzes. Once the student's knowledge base is determined, tutoring will consist of walking through compartmentalized topics. I aim for lessons to be student focused, engaging in dialogue with them regarding the topics to ensure not only raw knowledge, but a full understanding of them. Premade quizzes for each topic are administered after lessons to determine the student's progress.
