About John
My name is John, and music has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in school bands playing alto sax, trumpet, tuba, bassoon, and guitar, and later studied Jazz Drum Set and Piano at SUNY New Paltz. I developed my teaching craft in their tutoring center, through private lessons across the NYC area, and ultimately while earning my Music Education degree at CUNY Queens. I’ve performed live in 25 states and continue to write and play music every day — it’s truly the thing I love most. Teaching allows me to share that passion, helping students build real skills while discovering the joy of making music. Happy Practicing!
