About Nozomu
My name is Nozomu Ikeda and I have completed the International Baccalaureate program in both Biology and English, which has equipped me with specific knowledge on how to write and break down difficult texts, think critically beyond surface-level meanings, and write concise, convincing essays.
I have experience writing both research papers in a STEM field, and short essays or theses on a variety of English literature ranging from poetry and plays to academic journals and novellas.
As a student who has consistently chosen classes where essays are required, I can help to take preventative measures against the common pitfalls that many students may fall into that work against their goals of writing in a clear and concise manner.

These lessons are geared toward middle school or high school students who are looking for personalized advice on their essays, research papers, or analyses of the texts they may be working on in school, thus the lesson plans will vary greatly depending on the student's specific needs, and their respective goals.
My teaching method is based on constructive criticism that aims not to directly control the students' writing, but rather to encourage critical thinking and provide the necessary toolkit for the student's writing and reading comprehension skills to flourish.
Texts brought by the student will be analyzed in a discussion-style format where complex ideas can be brought to light in more digestible ways. Furthermore, all stages of the student's essay-writing process will be supported, from the planning stage to the proofreading stage.
