About Zoi
As an interpreter, she has a degree in Higher Education in the specialty of oboe and English horn at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Madrid where she has obtained outstanding qualifications. He has been oboe head of JORCAM and ORMAD. He emphasizes his collaboration as oboe first soloist with the RCSSM Symphony Orchestra in the recording of Bequerianas by María Rodrigo (Cezanne Producciones / Acción Cultural Española, 2016). Currently, she is also a Doctoranda beneficiary of the FPU Assistance of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. He has obtained the Excellence Scholarship of the Community of Madrid during the four Degree courses. As a best record of its promotion, it has been an extraordinary degree award from the Complutense University of Madrid in the 2015-2016 call. Subsequently, he completed the Master in Spanish and Hispano-American Music (UCM) obtaining the highest marks. Among his recent publications, it is worth mentioning “Popular music: the informative work of Pedrell in Madrid (1892-1900)”, Revista de Musicología, SEDEM, Vol. XL, 2 (2017) or “José Álvarez: a wind instrumentalist in the century XIX ”, Music Magazine, RCSMM, 24 (2017). He is currently responsible for the Editorial Management of the Síneris Magazine and a collaborating member of the radio section of it.

To learn to play the oboe we must start with a good breathing technique. Therefore, the first thing is to learn to perform a deep diaphragmatic breathing. With fun and entertaining exercises, we will achieve it quickly. Next, we will learn how to vocalize, that is, how to sing the notes well with the oboe. It is essential to know how to open the throat and let the air flow naturally, for that, we will do many activities with various oboe methods (Llimerá, Báguena etc.) that I have compiled, to practice it. All this, we will combine it with the reading of short pieces that are putting us in shape and help us to work different skills. If your level is more advanced, of course, we can work on other aspects (fingering, tuning, sound etc.) through varied technical exercises that help us polish these issues.
