About Lauro
I am an occupational therapist who has been practicing for the last 30 years. Occupational therapist are by nature life coaches who work with clients who have had a major trauma or disease process. I worked with many a diagnosis, but a client is not a diagnosis but a person. I help clients develop strategies to order to live life again , not just exist. I have moved into the area of intimacy and sexuality, as this seems to be an area that is often neglected, but oh so important to a human being. I also work with men's health issues especially after some traumatic event. Not all my clients have a diagnosis , they are typical everyday people who want to start living.

Trained as an occupational therapist I use several theories in order to assist my clients. The overarching theory that drives my practice is the Model of Human Occupation(MOHO) which allows me to keep the client always at the center of my practice. It allows me to examine routines, habits roles which play a major factor in a person's engagement of life. I also does what other theories do not. It allows me to examine volition or your drive to engage in activities. I believe this is critical to a clients success. I also pull on a method that was developed at the University of Southern California which gives the client and me tools that will allow for person to reach their goals
