About Jonathan
I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in Trombone Performance and Music Education from Southern Methodist University. I am studying under John Kitzman, the former principal trombonist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. I have performed in various ensembles including the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, the Lone Star Youth Winds, as well as the Meadows Wind Ensemble. Our lessons will be guided around your goals and ambitions. If you are a beginning trombonist looking to develop your skills our lessons will be centered around fundamental playing. If you are a more advanced player who is looking to prepare for an audition or for a competition, our lesson will be centered around getting you prepared on whatever excerpts or solos are required to win!
I have always been taught that fundamentals are the base for everything else we do as a trombonist and as a musician. Our lessons will be fundamental driven with the aim to improve you not only as a trombonist but as a musician as well. I will teach you the fundamentals and techniques needed to play with your best, most beautiful sound, intonation, and technique!
