About Mari
I am a current college student studying psychology with plans to pursue a career in sports psychology. Coaching and teaching are truly what I am most passionate about, and I thrive on watching my dancers grow and succeed. Dance has always held a special place in my life, and I am committed to continuing that passion by helping others develop both technically and mentally.
With 17 years of dance experience and current high school dance team coaching, I bring a strong foundation of knowledge, structure, and professionalism to every lesson. I prioritize creating a positive, motivating, and respectful learning environment where dancers feel supported, challenged, and confident. My goal is not only to help dancers improve their skills, but also to inspire self-confidence, discipline, and a strong mindset that carries beyond the dance floor.

My Teaching Approach
As a tutor and dance coach, my approach is supportive, structured, and goal-oriented. I focus on meeting each dancer where they are while helping them build strong technique, confidence, and performance quality. I believe dancers learn best in an encouraging environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and trying new things.
Teaching Methods & Techniques
I use a combination of demonstration, verbal cues, repetition, and constructive feedback. I break down choreography and technique into manageable pieces, emphasizing clean execution, musicality, and injury-safe movement. I also adjust my coaching style to match each dancer’s learning style, whether they respond best to visual demonstrations, counts, or imagery.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a targeted warm-up focusing on flexibility, strength, and proper alignment. From there, we work on technique fundamentals such as turns, leaps, or control, depending on the dancer’s goals. The remainder of the lesson is spent cleaning choreography, improving transitions, and refining performance quality, or continuing drills if the dancer does not want to work on choreography. Each lesson ends with feedback and clear goals to work on before the next session.

I bring 17 years of dance experience and current high school dance team coaching into every lesson. This gives me a strong understanding of both technical foundations and performance expectations. I prioritize clean details, efficiency, and confidence while maintaining a positive and motivating atmosphere. I’m passionate about helping dancers grow not just technically, but also mentally as performers.
